Always get to know your photographer

Hello. I'm Andy.

I love photography and I love to travel, one day hoping to merge the two as a photojournalist would be a dream. This is why I am drawn to documentary style of photography. It's a way to tell a story with no manufactured elements, just the truth.

I live with my wife Em and Australian Kelpie Maverick - and yes. I do like Top Gun. We live in Hull but venture down to Essex from time to time as that's where Em is originally from and where I lived for 9 years while serving in the military.

We both have a passion for wildlife and the environment. And hope to one day, shine the light on some important problems around the world, such as animal rights issues. That's actually what started me on the road to photography. I used spend my nights watching urban foxes and trying - yes, trying, not succeeding - to capture them playing and scavenging.

One day, a friend asked if I'd photograph his wedding and while I was dubious at first - and nervous - I accepted. However, I hated all the posing and formal shots, it just didn't feel real. It didn't feel authentic.

That's when I realised. This is what I want to do. Photograph real people. Authentic moments. And there is nothing more authentic than the emotion on a momentous occasion.

"Can't rate Andy high enough! From start to finish he was friendly, professional and fitted seamlessly into the day. We loved the style of his pictures and it was one of the best decisions we made. It allowed us to truly enjoy the day rather than spend hours posing. The pictures came back quickly and we was blown away by the results. We had originally wanted a videographer to capture the day but Andy did this with just pictures and they truly do tell the story of the day. Thank you again Andy!"
